In this performance assessment, students will listen to a story being read aloud. Then, students will create a magazine spread for the characters in the story. Taking the lens of a detective, students will use the respective information to create their magazine spread. Students will be asked to describe one of the main characters and their actions throughout the story.
Students will create the final product in any appropriate way, including, but not limited to, PowerPoint or Google Slides (or another slideshow tool), Microsoft Word or Google Docs, or paper and colored pens/pencils/ markers. Final student work should be saved or scanned as an Acrobat PDF for uploading to the virtual scoring software. This assessment can be used at any time in grade 3.
