Overview

In this performance assessment, students will describe the two-dimensional figures that result from slicing right rectangular prisms and right rectangular pyramids.

Specifically, students will be asked to describe the shapes from 3 different slices of a right rectangular prism and 3 different slices of a right rectangular pyramid.  

Students can show their work in the workspace provided in the student booklet.  Printed booklets are suggested to evaluate student work.  If the assessment task is done digitally, students should be familiar with showing their mathematical processes digitally.  
This assessment would best be used after instruction of slicing prisms and pyramids.
