In this performance assessment, students will listen to a story being read aloud. Then, students will create a character quilt to showcase their knowledge of a specific character. Students will choose between being a detective or a podcast host, using the respective information to create their character quilt. Students will be asked to describe the main character and events of the story.
Students will create the final product in any appropriate way, including, but not limited to, PowerPoint or Google Slides (or another slideshow tool), Microsoft Word or Google Docs, or paper and colored pens/pencils/ markers. Final student work should be saved or scanned as an Acrobat PDF for uploading to the virtual scoring software.
This assessment can be used at any time in 4th grade. It will be beneficial for students to have an understanding of what a Podcast is.
